Ann Corrao recently graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania; she majored in dance, with concentrations in education, performance, and choreography. She currently works as an educator and choreographer for Standing Ovation Studios in Armonk, NY and dances for the Megan Flynn Dance Company, based in Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Corrao worked for the Muhlenberg College Dance Center teaching creative movement, ballet, pointe, and modern classes. She developed her own teaching philosophy and practice, which was influenced by her professors, Karen Dearborn, Teresa Van Denend Sorge, and Megan Flynn, that draws from her Creative Movement teaching background, somatic techniques, and knowledge of anatomy. Since graduating she has taught for many prestigious studios and summer camps around Westchester County, NY. She has performed in works by Heidi Cruz-Austen, Jessica Lang, Trinette Singleton, Jeffrey Peterson, Amanda Selwyn Dance Theater, Dalit Agronin, and Emily Medd. She has also presented work at the American College Dance Association Festival, Moving Stories Concert at Muhlenberg College, and the International Dance Festival presented by Nickerson-Rossi Dance.
This fall I am working for Standing Ovation Studios as a choreographer, dance teacher, and Drama Bee Educator for Lighthouse Youth Theatre! DramaBee is a program that combines acting, singing, and dancing experiences for preschoolers. This semester LYT is offering Broadway Dance, where I am focusing on technique as well as Broadway repertoire. The shows for this season are Willy Wonka Jr. and Legally Blonde! I will be choreographing and stage managing both sets of shows. It will be very busy for the next few months, but I am super excited to get the productions ready for tech rehearsals!

2017 / MAY
I graduated in May 2017. I studied dance and concentrated in education, choreography, and performance. I also took many business classes and have found that I am really interested in non-profit organization management.

American Dance Festival
I attended the American Dance Festival as one of their summer interns. While I was there I took classes in composition, Forsythe ballet, and Shen Wei dance arts. I was able to participate in the International Choreographers in Residence Performance as well as other informal dance concerts.

Accademia dell'Arte, Arezzo
During the Spring Semester of my junior year I studied at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy, just south of Florence. I spent about 3 months studying dance, philosophy, Italian, and performance studies in a villa nestled in the Tuscan hills. This semester was a highlight in my collegiate dance studies. I was inspired and encouraged by a unique and generous group of artists.

The Ursuline School
The Ursuline School is a private Catholic all-girl school in New Rochelle, NY. During my time at Ursuline I was involved in the dance club, Peer Ministry, and the Italian Honors Society. This school and the people in it shaped the strong, independent woman that I am today.
